Cholera

In this era of rains, it has become necessary that I write on cholera. A lot of cholera cases are recorded every year during the rainy seasons due to many reasons. It is also a fact that the true sanitation status of a town or city in Ghana is seen after the rains have poured. This is because the rains brings to our areas and homes all sort of waste such as polythene bags, faeces in bags, refuse from houses etc. Last year (2014) we recorded over 20, 000 cases of cholera in Ghana. It is therefore better for us to know what cholera is, and how to prevent it. Healthy Mind; food for the nervous system

The Nervous System which includes the Brain and Spinal Cord is an important system in the human body. It controls and co-ordinates all parts of the body and contains the higher human functions such as memory, perception and reasoning. It provides a complex communication system between the body’s internal and external environments as well as detects and responds to changes inside and outside the body. The system requires only glucose and oxygen to function.
