“Touch Not, Taste Not, Handle Not”
Good health does not come by accident,
rather a conscious effort on the part of the individual to achieve and maintain
it. Temptations to engage in unhealthy habits abound more in our time due to
advertisement on TV, radio and the internet. These advert are well crafted to
catch the attention of everyone including children below 5 years who are always
seen and heard reciting these adverts from “alpha to omega” anytime they are
played. Many people are being led astray by these adverts. To overcome these
temptations, I recommend to you a simple rule - [“Touch Not, Taste Not, Handle Not
– any unhealthy thing you know”]. Of all the many things our Creator
(God) has supplied us with we need to make the right choices. We urgently need
to practice temperance which simply means moderation in what is good and avoiding what
is bad.
Touch not, taste not, handle not, eat
not, and drink not tea,
coffee, caffeine, carbonated drinks, fermented wines, alcoholic beverages,
tobacco, opium, narcotics, spices, high animal protein diet, high fat diet etc.
These things are injurious to your digestive system and affect the body as a
whole.
On the contrary, touch, taste, handle, eat, and drink water, vegetables,
legumes, grains, fruits, simple uncomplicated foods etc. your body can process
these without any negative effect to the body. Remember the rule - “Touch Not, Taste Not, Handle Not”
